The official online prices—you should NOT pay more than that

The official online price set by the gondoliers for a gondola ride is 113,00 € per gondola. You do NOT have to pay more than that, and you shouldn't pay more than that either.
This price is NOT negotiable with the gondoliers. Note: If you book your gondola ride online, you can be sure that a gondola will be waiting for you at your scheduled time. The choice is yours. This fixed price is valid all year round. And only when you make an online reservation will you receive a written guarantee from the gondolier that the gondola will carry only the people you specify.
The daytime ride (9:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.) usually takes about 30 minutes. The lunch break is from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Please keep in mind the standard rule of the free market: supply and demand determine the price. Demand is higher in the late afternoon and at sunset, so you should expect to pay a higher price.
A gondola can hold up to 5 people

A gondola can usually accommodate up to 5 people. The only exception: A baby may ride on board in addition to the parents’ lap. For decades, we’ve been asked the same question: “But we’re one more person! Is that still allowed? Is there a special exception just for us?” And for decades, the gondoliers’ answer has always been: “Five people are officially allowed.” We’re not allowed to take on any more than that.
Extremely high demand: Late afternoon

Spring and fall are the two peak seasons in Venice. Gondolas are in the highest demand especially in the afternoons and at dusk. You can use this to your advantage: All it takes is for a gondola in front of or behind you to have a musician and singer „on board.“ His rendition of „O sole mio“ carries far through the narrow canals, so you’ll benefit from it too.
The cheapest option: a gondola ride for 2 euros

Here’s a quick tip on how to take a gondola ride without spending a lot of money: At several points along the Grand Canal, larger „multi-passenger gondolas“ cross the canal. A one-way crossing costs just 70 cents. (But that’s only for locals; tourists pay 2 euros.) As you can see in the picture, there are two gondoliers at work here, transporting passengers.
Pure romance: With music and a singer

If you book music and a singer, the gondola ride becomes a special, romantic experience. The singer (pictured here on the left) naturally stands up to sing. Throughout the entire 30-minute ride, you can expect to hear 4–5 songs. Most often, it’s entire tour groups traveling in several gondolas who book a musician and singer. Maybe you’ll get lucky and there will be a gondola with a singer right in front of or behind you.
So much going on! What now?

Especially during peak season, the crowds are sometimes so large that, that it often happens, that you simply let the gondoliers move on. If a large group of tourists arrives at the gondoliers just ahead of you, you, as an individual customer, will have almost no chance of getting a gondola on the spot—unless you’ve reserved your appointment online.

3 tours in the center of Venice.
The choice is yours: There are 3 routes to choose from here. The choice is yours.
Tour 1: Bacino Orseolo

The tour starts and ends right near St. Mark's Square. It begins near the Rialto Bridge, goes into and through the Grand Canal, and returns to the starting point.
Note: Unfortunately, we are unable to provide you with any available times at the gondola station: Tour 1 – Bacino Orseolo. These gondoliers haven't reported any available daytime gondola slots for months. We don’t know if all the gondolas are truly fully booked or if it’s simply a matter of convenience. Only in the evenings, at a rate of 140.00 euros per ride, are available slots reported at Station 1—Bacino Orseolo.
Tour 2: Stop at the Hotel Danieli

The tour starts and ends right in front of the Hotel Danieli, just 50 meters from St. Mark's Square. The tour passes directly under the famous Bridge of Sighs.
Note: This tour, which goes under the Seufzerbrücke, is by far the most popular. And we've always been able to find available dates.
Tour 3: Dogana (Customs) Stop

The tour begins and ends at the Dogana Vallaresso stop, right in front of the famous Harry's Bar, just 70 meters from St. Mark's Square. It starts and ends on the Grand Canal and features the longest stretch along the Grand Canal of any tour.
