Based on our many years of observation, this is standard practice for these offers. The ride usually lasts 30 minutes and focuses on the central San Marco district. If privacy and a convenient boarding experience are important to you, you should check this point carefully before booking.

The Gondola Bow Fitting
Depending on the source, it is said that the metal bow fitting (gondola tip) either depicts a horn or resembles the fisherman's cap that the doges used to wear.
The round part at the top is the Dogenhorn. The fishermen's caps looked similar.
It also has six metal prongs pointing in the direction of travel. These symbolize the six districts (sestieri) of Venice. The six districts are: San Marco, Dorsoduro, San Polo, Cannaregio, Castello, and Santa Croce.
The point facing backward toward the gondola represents the neighboring island of Giudecca, and the small points in between represent Murano, Burano, Torcello, or the Inquisitors of the State.
