Access to the Autorimessa parking garage

Access to the parking garage Car Garage at Piazzale Roma

If you decide to use one of the two parking garages right on Piazzale Roma, move into the left lane at the end of the long bridge—Ponte della Libertà. At the end, the road slopes slightly upward. After reaching the highest point, it slopes slightly downward. The Autorimessa Comunale parking garage is located right on the right side of the road.

Watch out for the driveway

After you've crossed the highest point of the bridge and the path begins to slope slightly downward again, you'll need to pay close attention:

  • Classify in a timely manner: Now stay on the right lane.
  • Location of the entrance: The entrance to the parking garage Municipal Car Park is located just before Piazzale Roma itself.
  • Stay patient: At this point, expect a short line of about 5 to 10 vehicles in front of the barrier.

Please drive very carefully here, as this area is very busy with buses and taxis

Autorimessa Parking Garage and the Water Buses (Vaporetti)

The Autorimessa parking garage is located right next to the vaporetto stop

As you can see in the picture, the vaporetto stops are located right in front of the Autorimessa parking garage at Piazzale Roma (shown here in the background). Every 12 minutes, a boat on Lines 1, 2, 4.1, and 4.2 will take you to a stop near your hotel.

The vaporetto fare is currently 9.50 euros per person, including one piece of luggage, for a one-way trip. I highly recommend that you purchase a multi-day ticket. This is the only way you can explore Venice as an island by boat. For example, there is no walkway along the Grand Canal. You can only admire the magnificent palazzi by boat (vaporetto).

Our tip: It would be very frustrating for you if the vaporetto left right in front of you when you arrived. With a ticket you ordered online, you'll get to the vaporetto faster. Then you won't have to wait in line at the register anymore.
