Expert Tip for Safe and Affordable Parking in 2026

Safe and Affordable Parking in Venice
Safe and Affordable Parking in Venice

Venice.com is, as the name suggests, the original website for all German-speaking visitors. This is usually referred to as "D-A-CH": Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

All visitors from these three countries have only two options for traveling by car.
You can either come from the west, heading from Verona—for example, from the Brenner Highway—or from „the east,“ via the Villach-Tarvisio border crossing.

And for those visitors traveling from the Villach-Tarvisio border crossing to Venice—and, of course, for all vacationers heading to the Adriatic—there is this completely secure and extremely affordable parking option.

Your Trip to Punta Sabbioni

If you're coming from the „West,“ you have two options:

  • Parking in an expensive parking garage in Venice, or
  • Take the Mestre bypass and drive through Jesolo and Cavallino to Punta Sabbioni

If you’re coming from the „east“ and want to use this parking tip, exit the highway at St. Dona-Noventa, then drive along a very well-maintained road past St. Dona, past Jesolo, and through Cavallino to Punta Sabbioni.

By the way: Hundreds of thousands—or even millions—of vacationers visiting the Adriatic also drive from Lignano, Bibione, Caorle, or Jesolo to Punta Sabbioni every year and park their cars there with complete peace of mind.

Prices

You know the rule of the market economy: supply and demand determine the price. And since demand is much higher in the summer than in the winter, the meadow owners (sorry: the parking lot owners) charge 6.00 euros per day in the winter and 8.00 euros per day in the summer.

Note: If you arrive on Monday and depart on Wednesday, you must pay parking fees for 3 days. Each day or portion thereof costs 6.00 or 8.00 euros.

The most important gateway for all vacationers heading to the Adriatic:
Take a boat from Punta Sabbioni right into the heart of Venice.

Park & Ride

From Punta Sabbioni, you’ll definitely need a vaporetto ticket for the trip to St. Mark’s Square in Venice and on to your accommodations. To make sure a vaporetto doesn’t leave right in front of you and you DON’T have to wait in line at the ticket counter, here’s a tip: Buy your vaporetto ticket online in advance. It costs the same as buying it at the ticket window.
