Congratulatory Banner for a Promotion
We will hang this banner for you on a small bridge under which the gondola ride passes. The banner will remain in our possession after the ride.
Custom Banner
Of course, we can also create a custom banner for you. Please contact us if you're interested. The company that prints our banners here in Venice, Requires approximately 4 business days' lead time. She charges €60.00 for a custom banner. The custom banner will be given to you after the ride, and you can take it home with you.
The Tour of Venice
There are several gondola boarding points in the city center. We’re in touch with all of them, of course. Depending on availability, we’ll select the route that’s guaranteed to have an available gondolier and email you the exact starting point of your tour. The benefit for you: You won’t have to wait unnecessarily long.
You have the guarantee:
- The gondola tour takes place in the city center (in the San Marco district).
- The tour starts no more than an 8-minute walk from St. Mark's Square.
- You will receive the exact address of the starting point via email in a timely manner
- All tours take you through both the Grand Canal and quiet, romantic, peaceful canals.
- The tour lasts about 30 minutes.
- We'll hang the banner for you on a suitable bridge.
- We'll accompany you on land and take plenty of photos of your gondola ride.

Maximum number of people: 5
A maximum of 5 people are allowed in a gondola. For over 20 years, we’ve repeatedly received requests asking if, as an exception, more people might be allowed. During the first 10 years, we passed this question directly on to the gondolier. And the answer was always NO.
The absolute maximum is 5 people. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the maximum was 6 people. This has since been reduced to 5 people. The only exception: a toddler up to 2 years old sitting on a parent's lap.

The Grand Canal and its „O Sole Mio“

One week to prepare
Some customers know exactly what they want: they book the ride, send us the text they want on the banner right away, pay immediately—and we take care of the order right away. Within a few days, everything is organized and ready for the big moment.
Some customers are still unsure when making a reservation—both regarding the desired date and time of the gondola ride and the text for the banner. In such cases, there is often a lengthy email exchange, which results in valuable time being lost.
Please note that we cannot place an order for your custom banner until payment has been received. The print shop in Venice then needs a few days to produce and ship the banner. Unfortunately, this timeline is unavoidable and has been an integral part of the production process for many years.
We therefore ask for your understanding and recommend that you place your order well in advance to avoid any potential delays.
Although we keep trying to speed up the process, this bottleneck persists. Until now, it has almost always been possible to get an appointment with us and a free gondola.
The Best Time of Day—The Best Light
Every gondola ride here in Venice also takes you through narrow, romantic canals. Two meters wide and three stories high. The later it gets in the evening, the darker it becomes. And in the dark, the camera’s automatic settings respond by using a wider aperture and slower shutter speeds. A wider aperture results in a shallower depth of field, and a slower shutter speed leads to blurry photos.
The later it gets, the worse the picture quality.
We strongly advise you not to start your trip too late. Here in Venice, it gets dark at the same time as it does where you live. So use the lighting conditions where you live as a guide. And starting at 6:00 p.m., gondoliers charge a 20-euro surcharge.

- A delay of a few hours: Depending on the weather forecast, you can start your trip earlier or later on the same day.
- Rescheduling to another day: You have the option of scheduling your trip a day earlier or later—depending on the weather.
- Cancellation within the specified time frame: If you decide not to take the ride, you can cancel it by the deadline.
