Line 1: every 12 minutes

Grand Canal

The vast majority of canals in Venice are far too narrow for this type of boat. Only the Grand Canal and its tall bridges are suitable for it (thank goodness). Since there is NO continuous walkway along the Grand Canal, you’ll need to take a boat tour to see all the beautiful palaces on both sides of the canal. And that’s only possible with Line 1, Line 2, or a private water taxi. This is an absolute must-do for EVERY visitor to Venice.

Here are the starting and ending terminals for Line 1. The trip from the Lido The train ends here, and ALL passengers must disembark.

Start and finish at the Lido

In the picture, you can see the bus stop at the Lido. Its name is S.M.E., which stands for Santa Maria Elisabetta. It is the only Vaporetto Bus stop at the Lido. ALL passengers must disembark here.
