Take Vaporetto Line 3 to Murano

From Piazzale Roma or the train station to Murano

There are four major transportation hubs here in Venice:

  • In the North: The Area Around the Parking Garages and Train Station (Piazzale Roma, Ferrovia)
  • In the center: The Rialto Bridge
  • In the south: The area around St. Mark's Square
  • In the East: Fondamente Nove

Commuter traffic, in particular, is concentrated in the area around the parking garages and the train station in the morning and late afternoon. A large number of employees who commute daily to work in Venice or Murano arrive at Piazzale Roma or the train station from their homes on the mainland (in the city of Mestre).

Line 3 offers a fast, direct route to Murano. This also applies to Murano residents, who can use this line to quickly reach the train station or the parking garages at Piazzale Roma and continue their journey from there.

While tourists often find that a ride on the Murano Line 4.1 vaporetto isn’t slow enough—since they want to take in and photograph as many sights as possible for as long as possible—locals want to reach their destination as quickly as possible. Line 3 is a fast, direct route to Murano.
